Upgrading the service
panel began in the spring of 2011. Gary was able to finish the job in less than
5 hours. He had enough time to poop at my apartment again, and hit on me in the
basement. He was in his late fifties and after telling me about his sick wife
said he was into “tomboys” like me and that I could have all the wiring done
for free if I treated him right. YAK! I called his boss, the owner of Kostovny
(this is a real name and a real company). The boss was unsympathetic, but
agreed to pull the loser from the job site. He offered me his son, still in the
apprenticeship to finish the rough in wiring for a “discounted price.” He bid
the job at $300, a total of 10 outlets and 3 lights. No biggy. His son was late
arriving, and early leaving and they stuck me with a bill 2 times as much as
the quoted bid. I was pissed. I called Kostovny and got his wife who said the
bill was incorrect and should have been $1200, not $600. WHAAAAAAAT? When I got
the owner on the phone he told me it took more time than expected, I told him I
knew the amount of hours they were here, he said they got lost and I was
charged for travel time, bullshit If you cant read a map you shouldn’t be doing
wiring. Then he said, well I underquoted you and my wife is mad that I am not
charging you the journeyman’s rate for our son. He is not a journeyman! It goes
on. So boring. I ended up paying the original quoted $300 and held out for a
month before paying the rest. Though I shouldn’t have paid for any of it since
the dipshit turned me into the inspector a year later and I had to repay the
permit fee. DO NOT USE KOSTOVNY ELECTRIC
Here is where you can NOT use Kostovny Electric:
